Gemini takes on ChatGPT and Claude with massive switching improvements

Google is quickly improving Gemini, rolling out useful new features almost every week. If you’ve been in the Claude or ChatGPT camp and wanted to switch to Gemini but were hesitant because you didn’t want to lose personal memories and context, Google is now removing that barrier.

Gemini now features a “memory import” tool that lets you import memories, preferences, and personal context from ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI chatbots.

This is a big problem because it is difficult to replace AI assistants. After weeks or months of use, these tools retain a memory of your preferences, usage habits, and other details. Losing all of that acts as a barrier, forcing you to keep using the same chatbot even if better alternatives exist.

Gemini’s new import tool aims to remove this friction, making it easier to switch without starting from scratch. This feature was spotted in testing less than a week ago.

You can find “Import memory in Gemini” in Gemini settings. This will give you a prompt to copy and paste to another chatbot. Then, paste the response into the Gemini import tool text box and click the “Add memory” option to save the information.

This will instantly give Gemini access to your personal preferences, help it provide more personalized responses, and will connect well with Personal Intelligence.

Google’s memory import feature for Gemini comes weeks after Anthropic added a similar option to Claude.

Bring your chat history to Gemini

You can also export your conversations from other chatbots and upload them to Gemini. It supports ZIP files up to 5GB and automatically organizes your chats, so you can continue your chats from where you left off. If required, you can also delete imported chats one by one.

Unfortunately, you can’t import project files, attachments, or AI-generated images using Gemini’s import tool — only your commands and responses carry over.

In most AI chatbots, you can find the option to import your chat history in the Data and privacy section.

To make things easier, Google also renamed Gemini’s “Previous Chats” feature to “Memories.” These changes will be visible in Gemini in the next few weeks.

Gemini’s new import tool is free to use and starts rolling out today to all free Google accounts.

PakarPBN

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
