Google launched the feature-rich third beta version of Android 17 QPR1 during I/O 2026. It includes several important changes, such as animation adjustments, system UI blurring, and redesigned app menu shortcuts. Now, less than a month later, Google is rolling out the fourth Android 17 QPR1 beta to users in the public beta program.
Unlike the previous beta version, Android 17 QPR1 Beta 4 focuses on bug fixes and stability improvements. There’s one important new feature added: Screen Reactions.
Google first demonstrated this feature at I/O 2026. It lets you record yourself and your Pixel screen simultaneously, with your face appearing in a moveable and resizable overlay at the bottom so you can position it anywhere on the screen. This feature will make it easier to record reaction videos or tutorials.
Additionally, Android 17 QPR1 Beta 4 addresses the following bugs:
- An issue where the mouse pointer becomes invisible on the external display when the Work profile or FLAG_SECURE application is active. (Issue #446715557)
- The Settings app crashes when launching credential provider settings from Personal Space. (Issue #499908921)
- An issue where the screenshot sound is combined with the ringer volume, prevents silent capture while maintaining call alerts. (Issue #336098340)
- An issue where video recording at 5x zoom would show frame skipping and jitter during panning. (Issue #447867142)
- An issue where the Back Tap gesture fails to trigger on the interactive lock screen. (Issue #476775220)
- Graphics driver regression causing severe 3D performance degradation in OpenGL ES applications on newer hardware. (Issue #476585209)
- Regression when Wireless ADB and local network dependent apps fail to connect. (Issue #506418219)

Get the new beta or wait for the stable release of Android 17
If you’re using the Android public beta channel running an earlier version of QPR, the new beta version will automatically appear as an OTA download. Beta 4 is available for all compatible devices, from the Pixel 6a to the Pixel 10 family. The only exceptions are the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, although Google says both devices will receive subsequent beta releases.
It’s worth noting that this is the fourth beta of Android 17’s first Quarterly Platform Release (QPR1), with a stable release expected sometime in September. As for Android 17 itself, based on Mishaal Rahman’s post on X, the stable release seems to be arriving soon.

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
