Google is changing how Gemini usage limits work

Unlike ChatGPT, Claude, and most other AI services, Gemini so far uses a daily request limit. This is much more generous than what competing AI services offer. But at I/O 2026, Google announced a switch from daily request limits to a “computing used” model.

Until now, Gemini calculated its daily usage limit based on the number of commands. This is different from ChatGPT and Claude which calculate daily usage limits based on token consumption.

Going forward, Google says Gemini’s fast limits will use a “computing-driven” model. This means that instead of commands, your usage limit will be calculated based on the complexity of the command, the features used and the duration of the chat. For example, a video creation command will use more tokens and computation than a simple text command.

If you use Gemini for basic tasks, the new usage limits won’t impact your workflow. But if you frequently use it for complex tasks, including video creation or coding, you may reach its limits sooner than you think.

Similar to ChatGPT and Claude, Gemini will now feature five-hour and weekly usage limits. If you use too much computing, you’ll hit the five-hour limit first. Weekly limits will apply after that.

Google’s support page has more details about the new usage limits. Without a plan, it says “standard limits” will apply. The AI Plus plan increases this to 2x, while AI Pro offers a 4x higher limit. The AI Ultra plan offers 20x higher usage than the AI Pro plan.

It also notes that the following activities and actions will eat into your usage limit.

Premium models and features require more usage and may cause you to reach your limit faster. This includes things like:

  • Media generation

  • In-depth Research

  • Pro Models

  • Expanded thinking and Deep Thinking

Once you reach your limit, Google will switch you to a smaller model so you can keep working. AI Pro and Ultra customers can purchase AI PAYG credits to skip the limit and continue working. These credits will work in Google Antigravity, Google Flow, and Gemini apps in the near future.

The changes to Google’s Gemini usage limits come as the company launches a new $100 AI Ultra plan while dropping the top-tier price by $50 to $200 per month.

PakarPBN

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
